Welcome, fellow travelers! Today, we're heading up Highway 31 to Mackinaw City, Michigan. Our first order of business is finding a place to stay, so we're heading to the KOA Journey to get checked in and settled.

Local Weather:
After a quick stop at the beautiful Lighthouse Point near Crystal Lake, we're making our way to Mackinaw City. Did you know that this city is located at the very top of the state of Michigan? And if you cross the Mackinac Bridge, you'll end up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

We've heard that Mackinaw City is a must-see destination, with its lighthouses, old forts, and charming replica city. So, we're excited to explore everything this city has to offer.
We've secured a great RV spot at the KOA Journey for only $38 a night. With access to WiFi, showers, and restrooms, this is the perfect base for our Mackinaw City adventure.

Our first stop is McGulpin Point Lighthouse, a work in progress built in 1868. The red-roofed brick lighthouse is a sight to behold, and we're amazed at the shipwrecks that surround the area. We're not going to hike the trail down to the water, but we can still enjoy the stunning views from up here.

Next up is the Historic Heritage Village Society, where we explore old buildings and learn about the area's history. We're impressed with the well-preserved buildings, including a two-story farmhouse from 1882, a school, and a pest house.

After our visit to the village, we head into downtown Mackinaw City. The city is small but bustling with activity. We spot the large ferry boats that take visitors to Mackinac Island, a car-free destination that's a popular attraction. Unfortunately, due to the long wait times, we won't be visiting the island today.

Instead, we explore the town's business district, filled with shops, restaurants, and hotels. We even catch a glimpse of a parasail and a jet boat on Lake Huron's eastern side. We watch the big ferry boats, including Shepler's, service the island, and observe cargo ships passing under the Mackinac Bridge.
Our journey through Mackinaw City has been a success, but our exploration doesn't end here. In our next video, we'll be checking out more historical sites, including old forts and lighthouses. Stay tuned for more of our RVerTV adventures!
