Plant-Based in Berlin
Autumn
Your guide to the best plant-based options in my favorite city, Berlin, Germany
This guide offers some of my & my friends' favorite vegan, vegetarian, and/or plant-based spots. With a variety of options at cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and markets, Berlin is one of the most vegan-friendly cities I have ever visited. This guide is not meant to be a comprehensive list but rather handpicked locations. I will definitely be back, try more, & add to the list (;

So many plant-based options at this cafe it's hard to choose! They also have an extensive list of drinks, from coffees & specialty lattes to teas & kombucha. Of course, both oat & soy milk are offered.

Funk You - Natural Food
@autumnmarie
Small but mighty, find all of your plant-based needs here. I find it easier to find vegetables on the road, but sometimes a variety of fruit is hard to come by. Funk You has both (and was only a 7-minute walk from my hostel), making it easy to get that refresh after a long work day. Or, let's be honest, the detox after a classic Berlin all-nighter. Their Detox Bowl with activated charcoal saved me (;
A plant-based/vegan/vegetarian dream, right in Mitte.

YamYam Berlin
@autumnmarie
Asian cuisine in Berlin is TOP NOTCH, and this Korean restaurant is no exception. With plenty of vegan & vegetarian options, it's easy to dine out with a group. I came here with my newfound travel friends, some of whom are meat lovers, and we all found delicious meals to order.
The atmosphere is perfect on a lovely summer night. The outdoor seating & delectable food make for a wonderful experience.

Restaurant Pasternak

Not for budget traveling...but I came here on a date😜
This restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere (I sat outside), mouth-watering wine, & plant-based/vegan options that rivaled the rest of the menu. (It is a fairly limited menu, so check it out before committing.)

geh Veg
@autumnmarie
Well-priced & crafted with care, Geh Veg has a noble philosophy to respect all living things. Smoothies, pancakes, sandwiches, & more, this charming cafe offers a vegan/vegetarian option for everybody.
Even better, in the summer months, they offer a wide selection of vegan AND soy-free ice cream flavors. Not a thing wrong with this place!

Velicious Cafe
@autumnmarie
Craving something sweet? This vegan pastry shop is the perfect choice. A bit further out than other options, but worth the trip.
I did not get the chance to drop by this particular cafe, but it comes highly recommended by a friend. The romantic atmosphere & unbeatable prices are a wonderful way to start your day.
If you're looking for something personal, they take orders for specialty cakes. Just make sure to submit the order enough in advance!

I am an experienced plant-based digital nomad who loves matcha lattes and good beer🍻😉 My expertise is for the 20-something, budgeting & backpacking European traveler (although I hope to expand my travel destinations very soon!). I'm a biggg fan of the .5 selfie; I collect them as souvenirs since they don't take up any space in my already over-packed suitcase...
I have a very balanced perspective when it comes to travel. My diet is primarily plant-based, but I've been known to try the local food even if it isn't. I love culture, art, music, science, & nature, but I also have pulled more than one all-nighter in some of my favorite cities. As much as I love living like I'm on vacation now and then, I work from my laptop and have to pick & choose activities accordingly. Meeting new people is one of my favorite elements of travel, but I also really enjoy spending time with myself.
All of this to say, no matter what side of backpacking you're looking for, I've got you covered. My products & services offer a unique perspective to each city, from culture to nightlife to food. I both work hard & play hard- just read the guide descriptions & take your pick!
