Castiglioncello

Castilgioncello is one of my favorite beaches in Tuscany. It's easy to get to from Florence with an hour train, and has a free beach and beach chairs you can rent. There are beach bars for drinks, food, bathrooms, etc.

Livorno
@daniellecohen
Livorno is an Italian port city on the west coast of Tuscany. It's known for its seafood, especially Cacciucco, Livorno's specialty dish, Renaissance-era fortifications and its modern harbor with a cruise ship port. Its central Terrazza Mascagni, a waterside promenade with checkerboard paving, is the city's main viewpoint.

Viareggio
@daniellecohen
🎭Viarregio is a coastal town in Tuscany, an ideal day trip from Florence. You can easily reach Viareggio by train from Florence in under two hours, and for around 10 euro. 🎟️To enter the Carnevale experience you must buy a ticket, full price is 22 euro for the normal, standing room. There are also ticket options if you want to be in the seated section on the bleachers, but I recommend standing and feeling immersed with the parade! Each date has a different start time ⏰ The event takes place for a few weeks in February. Once you grab your ticket, head on in, and grab a wristband to come in and out as you please. In terms of necessities you will find food and drink stands and porter potties. We got there well before the parade started, in time to enjoy lunch one of the many restaurants.🍴 🎈Enjoy the incredible papier-mâché floats, complete with irony, political satire, and fantasy! Make sure you dress up to get into the spirit! 🥳There are stands selling confetti, and even pieces to add to your costume, like wigs! 🎉

Elba Island is one of my favorite places in Tuscany. Known as the destination where Napoleon was exiled to. Elba is easy to get to, even without a car, as you can take the train to Piombino and the ferry (about 45 minutes) to Portoferraio in Elba.

Ciao! My name is Danielle and I'm a Californian from San Diego, who's been living full time in Florence, Italy since 2020. I studied in Florence in 2016 and absolutely fell in love with the food, culture, and history, and made it my mission to move back. I moved right before the pandemic, and staying here through all the lockdowns and pandemic life really helped me discover slow travel and find all of Italy's beauty, including lesser known gems, and off the beaten path travel spots. During my three years in Florence, I have wrote for publications like The Florentine, done freelance marketing with restaurants and a travel agency, giving me high insight into the best destinations, foodie spots, and more. I am here to help you make the most of your vacation in Italy with curated itineraries for every type of traveler and digital maps to help you enjoy THE BEST food each region has to offer. Let me do the work so you can just relax and enjoy, without any stress! I've had a very unique experience living in Italy the last 4 years, as I made my official move right before the pandemic, after visiting for years. Because of this I learned to travel locally and deeply throughout the numerous incredible destinations in Italy and for that I cater my travel services to finding the most local and mindful experiences, keeping true to discovering and appreciating Italy's culture.
