How You Get Here:

Subway 🚊 : Take the A or C train Downtown to High Street Station (From Manhattan).

Ferry 🛥: Start from Pier 11/Wall Street Station in Manhattan and take the Ferry to DUMBO (Fulton Ferry, Brooklyn). The ride is less than 5 minutes. Tickets are $4, and can be purchased from a machine or using the NYC Ferry App on your phone (**recommended**).

**My Personal Pick**: Take the ferry one way to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan. There's an argument that you should walk the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn Side to Manhattan, as you'll be facing the Skyline instead of turning to see it. This can easily be reversed as well. If you're not a big walker, you can alternatively walk a little of the bridge for photos and just ferry/subway both ways.

DUMBO:

This is where you will find the most tourists, as it is close to the Brooklyn Bridge and the waterfront park. I consider this area a MUST Visit for any First Timer. It can be completed in 1-2 hours.

Shake Shack Dumbo
If you go to California all you hear about is In-N-Out Burger. When you come to New York Shake Shack is all the hype. The original opened in Madison Square Park in 2001, and has spread worldwide. A single shack burger is $6.69. This is a premium price for a premium product. This is a very New York choice for lunch if you're a fan of great burgers.

Brooklyn Heights:

If your time is limited, you may not be able to fit in the major points of Brooklyn Heights. Technically, most of BK Bridge Park is in Brooklyn Heights, but my picks are away from there. I encourage you to try, as it's truly one of New York's most beautiful areas and will give you a completely different vibe than Manhattan (with way less tourists around than DUMBO).
