Badlands
The Badlands National Park is a very unique landscape located in south western South Dakota. After driving around and exploring the Park you may find yourself disoriented. It can be difficult to determine if you are looking at the mountains or deep in a valley. The topography as you approach the Park is flat grasslands, but the moment that you see the first vista, you may ask yourself "WTF?" The park abounds with a variety of wildlife including Prarie dogs, bald eagles, bison and bighorn sheep. Regardless of the time of year, the park is usually very windy.

Very good comfort food with very friendly service. What they call cowboy slop is actually very good.

Their signs don't lie. We began noticing their signs along I-90 as soon as we entered South Dakota. They really have 10,000 cowboy boots, $.05 coffee and jackalopes. You could literally spend a whole day in Wall Drug and not see everything that they have. It is a very unique place and well worth the stop.

Badlands Boondocking Area

This is an amazing place to camp at night but even better to wake up to catch a sunrise. The camp spot is along the rim of the Badlands. Camping is free but can get quite crowded during the peak season. Bighorn sheep are frequently spotted as they climb up the edge of the rim to feed on the grasslands.
