Hey! This board has been retired and replaced by a better version. You can find it here:

Veneto

How you know it: Venice, Dolomites, Verona

Formerly a wealthy empire all its own, Veneto has some of the best of Italy. From the classics like Venice to off the beaten path gems like Bassano del Grappa, you'll love Veneto. Don't forget that Prosecco comes from here too!

Friuli Venezia Giulia

How you know it: Trieste, Udine, Sacile, Aviano

An underrated region in northeast east Italy, and my current home! Known for its Austrian and Slovenian influences.

Liguria

How you know it: Cinque Terre, Genoa, and the Italian Riviera

Beautiful water, gorgeous coastal towns, and great hiking. Eat pesto, foccacia, and as much seafood as you can!

Emilia Romagna

How you know it: Bologna, Modena, Parma

In a country of good food, Emilia Romagna reigns as the foodie capital of Italy! It’s the home of parmigiano-reggiano, tortellini, lasagna and more!

Tuscany

How you know it: Florence, Siena, and the Chianti wine region

Tuscany is beloved for a reason! Its amazing food, gorgeous rolling hills and fascinating history means it lives up to the hype.

Lazio

How you know it: Rome

Rome is iconic, and one of my favorite places in the world. From the history and architecture to the food and culture, it’s an incredible place!

Campania

How you know it: Naples, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii

Whether you want great food, amazing archaeological sites, stunning seasides or an inside look into daily Italian life, you can find it in Campania!

Sicily/Sicilia

How you know it: Palermo, Catania, Mount Etna

Trentino Alto Adige

How you know it: Bolzano, Dolomites, Trento

This region has some of the best Dolomites in the country! It has a lot of Austrian influence as well, giving it unique food and culture.

Amateur Italian, travel advisor, and adventurous eater! I’m a travel creative living in small town northern Italy, and I've been planning travel for over 15 years. I've lived on three continents and visited over 40 countries, so I'm passionate about helping travelers experience the best of a location, no matter where! I love both/and travel: I want to see the big sights AND the local hangouts, the big cities AND the small towns. I’d love to help you do it too! If you’re going to Rome for the first time, you don’t need me to tell you to see the Colosseum. But you might want me to tell you if it’s better as a guided tour or on your own, what add-on’s are worth the money, and what are the extra secret things your ticket can get you! My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny. I'd love to work with you to create the trip of your dreams!
