General tips

- Monterrey gets extremely hot during summer so I reccomend visiting in the colder months!

- It is difficult to get around without a car, however, there is Uber and also public buses which cost $15 pesos per trip, you can see the bus routes on Moovit.

- A lot of food stands come out later in the day during summer rather than during the day as it is too hot.

- Monterrey is very big so I reccommend staying near Barrio Antiguo or San Pedro Garca Garcia depending on what you want to see (San Pedro is a wealthier area with a lot of upscale restaurants, shopping plazas/malls, and nice parks if thats what you''re into).

- Good to have some cash on you as some places don't accept card.

Recommended restaurants

(the last three have multiple locations)

Quesadillas de La Abuela
@rosecoppelmans
- At the back of the restaurant there is a 'house' that you can enter that resembles a classic Mexican grandmother house back in the day - recommend the quesadilla with 'chicharron en salsa verde' and the quesadilla with 'rajas'. - The tortillas are made fresh by hand, delicious! - They also have sopes, tacos, gorditas, aguas frescas, and more.
