Budapest
Another family get away,,. this time with extended family. Group of 13. Ages ranging from 76 to 12. This city is rich in Jewish history despite Hungary’s willing cooperation with Hitler in WWII. You can definitely see that this city spent many years behind the iron curtain. It’s perfect for a long weekend including a quick day trip to Lake Balaton and the quaint city of nearby Tinhany

Grand Budapest Apartments

Well located. Spacious apartments, comfortable. There is a small kitchenette and a weird standing shower in one of the rooms. It’s clean but not necessary new.

You need to book a tour to get in to see the synagogue. It’s worth it. Beautiful inside.

Liberty Square
@aviva
Lots to see in this nice square. The old stock exchange, US embassy, the monument to the Russians, a statue of Ronald Regan and a miniature Kermit the Frog. There is also a ridiculous monument nearby to commemorate those who fought against the Germans in WWII when we all know that the Hungarians greeted the Germans with bouquets, not bombs.

Hungarian Parliament Building
@aviva
Even with the debate around whether you can still call this building a Parliament it is without a doubt a beautiful structure. Famous for being one of the first buildings with central heating and also an interesting run-in with Freddy Mercury.
