5 must visit coffee shops in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
New York City is filled with great coffee - so much so that deciding where to stop for your caffeine fix can be daunting. There is no shortage of great cafes in the East Village, but these standouts are worth going out of your way for.

The spots:

Partners Coffee - a central hub

Must try: seasonal specials, pour-over coffee

Partners Coffee
@livlaskowski
Best for: working remote, catching up, a date Must try: seasonal drink specials, pour-over and sandwiches Food: yes, breakfast and lunch ‘till 3PM

Partners Coffee opened in 2012 and has since become one of the most loved “third places” of the Williamsburg community. The coffee is roasted just behind the counter where you’ll order, and the team is intensely dedicated to the art and science of coffee brewing. Despite the attention to coffee, there is no pretentious vibe here. Coffee is served up however you like it alongside tasty breakfast, lunch and pastries.

Shop - for aussie enthusiasts

Must try: the “sparky”, flat white, and breakfast burrito

Formerly known as Sweatshop, Shop is another long-time favorite for Australians and breakfast aficionados alike. Despite the sleek black and white vibe, the staff are incredibly friendly and certainly know their way around an espresso machine. The vibe is laid back and perfect for slowly sipping on a “sparky” (espresso tonic) paired with a breakfast burrito.

Land to Sea - a touch of Hong Kong heritage

Must try: fresh daily pastries, iced coffee, and seasonal specials

Land to Sea
@livlaskowski
Best for: light working, grab and go Must try: fresh Chinese inspired pastries, iced coffee Food: pastries, occasional pop-up events

Land to Sea is a newer addition to the scene, and opened last year after successfully fundraising via Kickstarter. The self-described coffee shop and community space is inspired by Hong Kong and the owners’ immigrant heritage. They serve up a rotating selection of delicious Chinese pastries and often host dessert pop-ups and artist residencies. Their iced coffee is the best I’ve found in the neighborhood, and I’m looking forward to their fall and winter specials (like the 5 spice mocha - I dream of it)!

Cafe Beit - a casual classic

Must try: iced blueberry capuccino

Right on Bedford, Cafe Beit is a 100% barista owned staple that serves coffee, plus beer and wine. I love their backyard for reading or catching up with a friend, and I always stop by during the warmer months to try their seasonal Blueberry capuccino. I love that they’re involved in the community, too, and often have events for local artists and musicians.

Alita Cafe - a five star pit stop

Must try: cold brew, fresh baked pastries

Alita Cafe

Best for: grab and go, morning coffee Must try: cold brew, pastries

In New York, finding somewhere we all agree on is somewhat of a rarity - making Alita’s 5 star rating extra impressive. They serve what might be the strongest cold brew in the city, plus delicious house baked pastries and coffee from local roaster Reggalia.

Thanks for reading!
