More formally: Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. They’ve always got great stuff showing in their theater and planetarium but our favorite event is OMSI After Dark. If this event is on during your stay, get tickets asap. The museum is open for adults only from 6‑10pm. Enjoy the exhibitions with food, drink, and the Portland cultural elite (ha! that’s not a thing but if it was, they’d be here).

Pittock Mansion

If you’ve got wheels, this is a worthy stop for the privileged view of the city, alone. Take a tour of the mansion ‑ or don’t. Either way, visiting the grounds is a lovely excuse to venture up into the West Hills.
A pit stop at Pittock pairs nicely with a visit to the Japanese or International Rose Test Gardens.
