Belgrano

MÖOI Belgrano & MÖOI MARKET
@nicki
Right in the heart of Belgrano, diagonal from the Plaza Manuel Belgrano, sits Mooi, which means "beautiful" in Dutch. It really is quite beautiful, though it gives off a bit of a cheesy vibe. The inside area is cute, but not generally the type of ambience I look for if I want to pay for a meal. It was a bit of 'cottage core.' However, they do have an outdoor patio, and a ton of seating both inside and out so you shouldn't have an issue getting a seat. We went on a Sunday around 2pm and didn't have an issue. We ordered the pumpkin ravioli and the chicken with a mushroom sauce, quinoa and pumpkin slices. Though were both delicious, though I prefered the ravioli. The sauce and flavors were so rich. We also ordered a fresh strawberry juice. The total was just under 6000 pesos for two meals and a karafe of juice. The menu did seem on the pricier side, though it is in Belgrano afterall.

Mirador Guemes Gallery

You could easily walk by this gallery front and not even realize it. But once you walk in, it's an incredibly beautiful old building with extremely high ceilings. Walk in and head to the elevators on the right side. Take the elevator up to the 6th floor. When the elevator doors open, turn left and you'll run into the rooftop restaurant. Because the rooftop terrace is on a small street, you shouldn't expect to see a wide view of the city. But you can get a great view of the surrounding architecture. I personally love this rooftop. The food and drinks are on the pricier side, but compared to US prices, things are still very affordable. The view and atmosphere is worth the slightly higher prices.

Trade Sky Bar
@nicki
This is a very stylish rooftop bar. People really dress up here. I tell you this so you don't feel underdressed and underprepared. You won't be let in with activewear. The views are stunning. Especially when the sun sets behind the Obelisco in the distance. But expect to queue to take photos because so many people want to capture that perfect Instagram moment. You absolutely need to have reservations, and don't be late to them! The threshold before they cancel your reservation is 15 minutes. But even if you're a few minutes late, you will may lose your chance at a good table. Therefore, I strongly suggest arriving exactly at your reservation time. There is usually a short line at the entrance to the building where you will get checked in. Making reservations is very easy: https://trade-sky-bar.meitre.com/ You'll see two reservation times: After and Dinner. After means 'after office,' so the hours are from 6-8pm. Dinner reservations begin at 8pm and go later. You need to leave a credit card for the reservation, but they will not charge you unless you do not show up. In the center of the rooftop there is a platform with about 8 small tables for reservations of 2 people. It gets a bit chilly up here once the sun goes down. Around the perimeter of the rooftop are tables for larger groups. Try to make your reservation a few days in advance, more if its a busy tourist season (January/February). When you enter the building, there is a woman who will ask for the name of the reservation. If you're right one time, she will probably be outside as the line forms. She will then lead you to the elevators and send you up to the 19th floor. There you will be greeted by another woman who asks the name for the reservation and sends you up the stairs to the 21st floor. Once you enter the rooftop, the hostess will again ask for the reservation name and lead you to your seat. The restaurant is on the pricier side, as it's a 'cheto' bar with 'cheto' prices. They do charge a 300 peso/person 'cubierto' fee. The food is very delicious though. We made a reservation for a Friday night at 6:30. The sunset was amazing. We ordered: Ceviche aperol spritz x 2 Negroni We paid about 7000 pesos. Another time I went we ordered: Glass of Malbec Orange Juice French Fries with Alioli sauce Stracciatella with tomatoes Thai Mushrooms on a satay stick Vegan Sushi A Pear dessert The total was 17,050 pesos (in October 2022) All the food I've had here is absolutely delicious.

Dome Roof Top Bar
@nicki
This is a fantastic rooftop bar/restaurant in the center of downtown. It’s especially fantastic on summer evenings when the sun goes down, the lights come on, and the warm night air creates that nostalgic atmosphere. They have a great bar up there with all the regular beer, wine, and cocktail options. There are also several food options- mainly “picadas.” It's great to order several dishes to share. Tip: Call ahead to make a reservation. When you arrive, the building is on the corner. The doorman will not let you in unless you give him your name with the reservation. Then go to the back and take the elevator to the A floor. You’ll be greeted with incredible views of the city and its great old architecture. I HIGHLY recommend the eggplant dish. It was absolutely delicious. Making reservations is very easy. Try one of these methods: Call: 01132216500 Email: reservas@tango-hotel.com.ar

San Telmo

Atis Bar
@nicki
This is a spectacular place that feels like a secret garden. From the outside it looks so unassuming and simple. But once you enter, you start to see the wonder of the place. It was once a nun’s convent, and then a residential home for immigrants. It is now a beautiful restaurant and bar with over 500 plants covering the walls of the center courtyard. There is both inside and outside seating. You should expect a long wait to get in as it’s usually very crowded. You’ll have better luck in a smaller group but anything larger than 3 means a longer wait. For best results to get a table, try to go at times when Argentines aren't eating. They eat lunch around 1:30/2pm, and dinner late around 9pm (or later). Therefore, try to go for lunch at noon, or dinner at 6:30. The food is priced higher than a lot of other places in the area so it’s definitely not budget, but also not insane. Expect to pay 2000-3000 per person. You’ll get great Instagram content here! :)

Villa Crespo

@nicki
The first thing to note is that it is entirely Spanish speaking, so if you're not comfortable with your language skills, it may not be the best option. If you do speak Spanish, this place is fantastic. Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the entire city. The lobby is dark with a cool vibe, great bar with good drinks, as well as several food options. Tons of tables and chairs. It's easy to find somewhere to sit because people are constantly getting up to go see their play once it is time. How it works: There are 2 groupings of time periods during the night. Generally one grouping from 8/8:30-11. The second gropuing is from 11pm-late. In each group, there are about 6 different mini plays that last about 10-15 minutes each. Each play shows about 4-6 times per night within their grouping time. Each play re-starts every 30 minutes. You can see as many as you want. There are discounts available if you want to see more than 1 or 2. For example, on certain nights you can get 3 shows for the price of one. There are other nights that give discounts ($600 per show per person). The general admission for each show is $700 pesos per show per person. You can also bring your drinks into the mini theatres. This is an all around fantastic night if you're looking to do something unique. Drinks, food, entertainment, cool location.
