What people say

"Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a renowned Buddhist temple situated atop Doi Suthep Mountain near Chiang Mai, Thailand. This sacred site is famous for its stunning golden chedi (stupa), intricate architecture, and panoramic views of Chiang Mai and its surroundings. To reach Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, you can hire a taxi or a tuk-tuk from Chiang Mai city center, which is about a 30-minute drive. Alternatively, you can opt for a shared songthaew (red truck) for a more budget-friendly option. Exploring this iconic temple offers not only a cultural and spiritual experience but also breathtaking views of Chiang Mai. "
"Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The temple is often referred to as "Doi Suthep" although this is actually the name of the mountain where it is located. It is a sacred site to many Thai people. As of June 2022, the entrance fees for Doi Suthep-Pui National Park are 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children 3-14 years old. Thai citizens pay 20 Baht for adults and 10 Baht for children. You can get here from Chiang Mai city via Grab or Bolt **don't take taxis, they WILL rip you off**"
"This temple is on the top of a mountain about 25-30 minutes out of the middle of Chiang Mai. Our hotel staff helped us arrange a reasonable red taxi (taxi truck). The driver picked us up, waited for us, and took us back down to our hotel. He also suggested some scenic photo stops on the way down. I definitely recommend trying to time this visit around sunset. This temple has at least 300 steps to walk up to reach the temple. You can do it! You will not want to miss the glittering gold temple. Admission is free."
