Kuressaare linnus

"Kuressaare Castle, also known as Kuressaare Episcopal Castle, is a medieval fortress on the island of Saaremaa in western Estonia. It is one of the most interesting and best-preserved fortresses in Estonia, dating back to the 14th-19th century . The castle is built in a late Gothic style and is characterized by a simplicity of form. It is considered one of the best preserved medieval fortifications in Estonia. Today, the castle houses the Saaremaa Museum which tells stories of the distant past and recent history of Saaremaa and its locals through permanent and travelling exhibitions.
