"The Southwestern Pavilion, also known as Hwayangnu, is a strategic surveillance facility in Hwaseong Fortress. It offers a panoramic view of the southern area, essential for defense. Built later in the fortress's construction, it features a brick-paved front for commanding troops and raised windows at the back for observation. In 1797, King Jeongjo inspected the entire fortress from this pavilion."
