What people say

"A lovely Hindu temple situated by the lake makes for such a picturesque sight. The surrounding gardens/grounds are also relatively expansive, meaning you won’t feel it’s too crowded or packed even though coach buses are dropping local tourists off here too. This is a functioning temple so don’t be surprised if you witness rituals being conducted on special religious occasions. If the weather permits, maybe rent a rowboat or swan boat to get out on the water and enjoy the temple from a different angle. Be warned though, it can get really hot if you’re there in the middle of the afternoon as there’s (clearly) little cover in the middle of a lake!"
"Among the most iconic sites of cultural Bali, it is impossible not to mention the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple: it is in fact the most important Shaivist temple on the island, which stands inside a caldera of an old, now extinct volcanic crater, where find Lake Bratan. Founded in 1633, the complex is located on the western side of the lake and is divided into two parts, one of which is "floating" located on a small island surrounded by water. 👣How to get there: it is about 45km from Ubud (1h30min journey by public transport). 🎟️Ticket cost: adult ticket price 30000 IDR (1,70€), children ticket price 15000 IDR (0,80€)."
"Located on the western shore of Lake Bratan in Bedugul, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is a 17th-century temple devoted to the Hindu trinity of Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva. With its distinctive 'floating' look due to its setting amidst the lake, this temple showcases traditional Balinese architecture, featuring tiered shrines dedicated to the Hindu deities. The backdrop of the Bedugul mountains adds to the scenic beauty of this significant religious site."
