What people say

"This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Greenwich. It once served as a naval hospital, but now it’s used as a filming prop (some of the movies/series which has had a scene here are The Crown, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall, Thor: the dark world, pirates of the caribbean, 007 Octopussy, 4 weddings and a funeral and many more). The Old Royal Naval College is renowned for its stunning architecture, and is part of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site, which also includes the Royal Observatory and the Queen’s House. The twin domes of the Painted Hall, also known as the “Sistine Chapel of the UK,” are a particular highlight, and Sir James Thornhill painted the hall’s elaborate paintings, which feature mythological figures, maritime landscapes, and important historical events. The Old Royal Naval College hosts various events, concerts, and cultural activities throughout the year. It is a venue for celebrations, festivals, and educational programs that showcase the site’s maritime heritage."
"The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a filming location in the series. It appears in several episodes of season two and three and is recognized as the backdrop for various London street exteriors and scenes involving Lady Whistledown's gossip pamphlets. The site is famed for demonstrating the influence of the Crown in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its popularity as a filming location is due to its well-preserved Georgian buildings and the lack of modern elements like parking meters and street lights. "
"My guide told me that this was building was Britain's answer to the Sistine Chapel and I can see why! The ceiling is gorgeous! The audio tour was great but if you can join a guided tour they are very well done. The Old Royal Naval College is also a very popular filming location and they offer a film tour. "
