"You can choose from plenty of options to add on in your Golden Circle Day Trip, but my all-time favorite was riding the Icelandic Horses. If you’re not familiar with an Icelandic horse, imagine a pony and you’ll get the picture. These horses are much smaller than what most are used to. They’re also extremely exclusive in Iceland. Once a horse leaves the country, it is never allowed to come back. This is mostly due to the various diseases that could wipe out the entire population. Note: I was the ONLY person on this tour because no one else had booked. I had a free private ride with the guide! Though this isn’t always the case, the tours are much less crowded in the winter than the summer. All gear is provided. And yes, the sun rises around 10:30-11AM in the winter."
