One man's trash is another man's treasure 💙 Artur Bordalo, also known as Bordalo II (pronounced Bordalo Segundo), was born in 1987 in Lisbon, Portugal. He is famous for using street garbage and discarded materials to create stunning animal sculptures. His underlying message is about excessive consumerism and waste, pollution and all types of endangered species. His works, which can be found all over the world, are referred to as "trash art."
This free guide includes:
🔹52 art installations of Bordalo II in & around Portugal, broken down by region
🔹Interactive map with tagged locations (use the map icon below to toggle between the guide and full map)
🔹All but a few are found outdoors (some are in restaurants as noted), and free of charge to view!
This is not an exhaustive list by any means, and not all of his pieces are permanent exhibits. But hopefully it will help you keep your eyes open for Bordalo's work while traveling around Portugal. His art pieces are really unique and I hope you enjoy spotting them in the wild as much as I do!

Berlin is one of Europe's most dynamic cities. Its rich, tragic history has spawned countless museums, memorials, & projects that are both fascinating and impactful. The art scene has something for everyone; if you prefer classic & historical, modern & thought-provoking, or if you don't consider yourself "artsy" at all, you can always find something to appreciate in this city. Berlin's energy is unmatched. So far I've visited 3 times & am still planning on going back! I guarantee Germany's capital will not disappoint.
This guide isn't just the locations you'll find on other sites. While some of those locations certainly are worth visiting, this is my carefully curated list of what to do both on and off the beaten path. I provide all of my experiences & opinions on each location/activity, how long I think is worth spending in each place, & all of the things you need to know before you go.
This guide includes:
- A comprehensive list of things to do & see in Berlin
- Your options for museum passes and city cards depending on your length of visit and interests
- How long to plan for each relevant location
- The closest metro line and best way to arrive at locations from Alexanderplatz (a hub where many hotels are located)
- Prices & potential discounts at museums
- A distinct section for Holocaust & WWII museums/memorials
- Free or cheaply priced classic Berlin landmarks
- Links to websites, tickets, museum passes, etc.
- "Know before you go" tips for all relevant locations
- Events & parks worth visiting in Berlin
- A "uniquely Berlin" section where I share some of my favorite places that feel uniquely Berlin to me (:

Prague holds a special place in my heart as it was my first solo backpack trip. You can be 100% sure I planned this trip to perfection, as I was doing it alone for the first time.
The largest and capital city of both the Czech Republic and Bohemia historically is Prague. Prague, with its rich history and impressive examples of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, is a major cultural, political, and economic centre of Central Europe. It served as the seat of various Holy Roman Emperors. The city was built next to the Vltava River, which provides stunning views. Prague is home to many well-known cultural landmarks, such as the Jewish Quarter, Petřín Hill, Vyšehrad, Old Town Square with the Prague Astronomical Clock, and Prague Castle. Prague's historic core has been listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1992.
All of the above and many more you can find in this 3-day intense trip plan, that will guide you through the most beautiful and interesting places in Prague. Be prepared to walk 20k+ steps per day!

My husband and I recently went on a seven-night trip to Mexico, combining the historic San Miguel de Allende (SMDA) with the vibrant Mexico City (CDMX). CDMX was on my list for a long time and I was thrilled to finally make it there.
Our journey began in San Miguel de Allende, where we spent two nights. Then, we traveled by private car to Mexico City, where we stayed for five nights.
In this guide, I’m sharing the highlights of our trip in CDMX, offering insights and tips for those who may not travel often but are eager to explore new destinations.
I hope my experiences inspire you to consider your journey.

Did you know that Minneapolis has a bustling art district? Each May, Art-a-Whirl floods the streets and art buildings to showcase the wonderful art and artists in the Nordeast Neighborhood. Here are my top 5 art buildings to explore. Most buildings are 100+ years old, so staircases are essentials with lots of walking, bad air ventilation, and crowded spaces. At times, it can be freezing cold and rainy. Other times, it can be hot and humid. Plan accordingly, but normally the buildings run hot with little air flow. The buildings are spread out, so plan on walking miles if you want to see many of the buildings. There is a trolley that will take you around the area. Parking can be difficult, so car pool together and make sure you park in an actual parking spot.
There are numerous music events, food trucks, restaurants, and breweries to enjoy! I suggest my favorite Nordeast brewery, Indeed as a place to quench your thirst! They also have a fantastic lineup of local artists all weekend long. These art buildings also host other events during the year. There is usually a mini Art a Whirl in the fall time.
