I knew how to do gluten-free in the USA, but Singapore was a whole different place. I spent the first few months checking out grocery stores, wet markets, and hawker centers. I asked questions at restaurants and left disappointed. I researched blogs and articles only to find out the information was out of date. A year after arrival, I started a support group to connect gluten-free expats and locals with friends and resources. We have now been in Singapore for over 12 years.
