Welcome to my page! My name is Efi, full name Efthymia and yes I am Greek. With my 4 kids we have lived in several countries including Turkey, Romania, New Zealand, Jordan, Lebanon and the Philippines. While living abroad I learned the importance of having a local's guidance and help. It is priceless. Being an expat I understand the hard way the challenges to live and explore a place. Greece, to many, is the dream vacation of a lifetime: the islands and beaches, the ruins and museums, the food and wine. I hear you! This is a beautiful say I read the other day ''𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝒂 𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕'' I am that type of a traveler that I always want to eat like a local. Meaning ..with them, trying their local food, wherever it's possible. Because they know! I know It's not easy to get that! Most of the time, you need a local to reveal the place, or invite you over to their backyard. In Greece, like in some other places, It is part of our

Amman, Jordan
I like being in new places more than the process of travel. Whenever I go to a new place, I like to spend some time there so that I can learn about the history and the culture. The best case scenario is to make local friends so that you can learn about the country from their perspective. Some of my cross-cultural travel highlights include: meeting my wife (and learning French because of her) and having all of my stereotypes shattered by my Middle Eastern friends. My desire to better understand my friends and their world led me to study Arabic and attend graduate school at the School of Oriental and African Studies - University of London where I learned about the history and politics of the modern Middle East. I am now passionate about helping people from the West discover the beauty of the Middle East.

Lima, Peru
During the last 7 years I have been traveling around the world and trying to find my way to live traveling. The first 3 years I hitchhiked around South America discovering my own country Peru and visiting Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador. After South America, 4 years ago I started my travels in Europe and Africa. I have been in Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, UK, Turkey, Poland and Morocco. I travel slow, I like to just get inmerse into a daily life as a local so I am the kind of nomad that spend months in one country or city or decide to move for a while in a new country and come back many times and see how a place has changed, how new people and new times in life can bring me new experiences in the same place. I volunteer while traveling mainly in hostels, I also use couchsurfing hosting or as a guest, sometimes wildcamping, sometimes I travel hitchiking, sometimes renting a c
