What people say

"The Blue Eye, or Syri i Kalter, is a captivating natural spring located in the heart of Theth National Park, Albania. Renowned for its striking turquoise color and crystal-clear waters, the Blue Eye is a mesmerizing sight to behold amidst the rugged beauty of the Albanian Alps. Fed by an underground river, the spring gushes forth from a depth of over 50 meters, creating a serene pool that reflects the surrounding forest and mountains. Visitors to the Blue Eye can immerse themselves in the pristine natural surroundings, taking in the breathtaking scenery and enjoying the cool, refreshing waters of the spring. Surrounded by dense forests and lush vegetation, it offers a tranquil retreat for hikers and nature lovers seeking solace amidst the tranquility of the Albanian wilderness. Whether marveling at its vivid hues or simply basking in its serene ambiance, the Blue Eye is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who visit."
"A breathtaking hike to a perfect swimming spot. In my opinion the better blue eye of Albania. Less people, but you also have to walk further. Some parts of the climb are steep and uneven, wear good shoes for the hike. Bring your bath suit and towel, it' cold but worth it. The water is crystal clear and vibrant blue. There's a guesthouse and a restaurant, for drinks and food, depending on the season. Better take enough water with you. It's about 8 km there and back, nearly 200m of elevation and will take you 2-3h. You can park at the beginning of the trail. "
"If you thought the waterfall was cold, think again. The Blue Eye was unbelievably chilly, even for me. The hike to this place is genuinely enjoyable as it winds through amazing valleys, though it is a bit challenging as it gets steep in the last 45-55 minutes. However, when you reach the eye, you'll be shocked by the crystal-clear blue water. To get back, I took a taxi with a friend that cost around 20€. If you don't want to, you don't have to; you can definitely walk back to Theth."
