"Conchal Beach gets its name from the Spanish word for shell “concha”. The white sand and shells lining the shores make it one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The beautiful turquoise and calm waters make it a great visit. The water can be crystal clear and makes a perfect place to snorkel or just spot fish from above. There are lots of vendors selling cold drinks, sweet treats, and cute little souvenirs. This is the ideal beach for relaxing and taking the kids swimming, but also very popular and can feel overcrowded at times."
"In my opinion, a bit overrated. Both, locals and tourists, talk great about Playa Conchal, and it is a beautiful beach, with turquoise waters. But it's overcrowded (mainly with locals), and right in front of resorts. ❗EVA'S TIP: in case you don't have a car, you can get to the beach by Uber from Tamarindo sharing with other people, that's what I did. "
"If you're comfortable going a farther distance, Conchal will have you raving! This beach is named like this because the sand is actually made of crushed pieces of pink and white seashells! The water is turquoise and absolutely breathtaking. This is about a 40 minute drive from Coco."
