Emily Winter
"Before heading to Forks from Port Angeles, I did one of the few dog-friendly trails in Olympic National Park. Walloon and I hiked 11.5 miles in about three hours on Spruce Railroad Trail on Lake Crescent. It was an easy and wheelchair accessible hike along the beautiful lake. We were stunned by the natural beauty the entire hike. My dog would have swam if I let him off leash, but I did not want to have to smell a wet puppy in an enclosed car all night long. But in the summer months especially, there's a great place to take a dip in the water during the hike! We continued on to Forks and made sure to stop at all the Twilight stops, including Bella's house, seeing her red truck, but more importantly - "La Push Beach baby, you in?" After getting our Twiligh fix, we headed to the Hoh Rainforest before settling in a camp for the night."
"Forks gained international attention due to its association with the "Twilight" series, a popular vampire-themed book and movie franchise by author Stephenie Meyer. The series is set in the town, and many fans visit Forks to see locations mentioned in the books. It is a small, quiet town, but if you are into Twilight, it is a necessary stop during this trip."
"Iconic town thanks to the Twilight movies being based off of Forks (although the actual movie filming took place elsewhere). There are a few spots to stop for quick souvenirs and lunch on your national park loop journey. "
