What people say

"Gröna Lund, Sweden's oldest amusement park, has its origins in the 1880s, although the area has been utilized for recreational purposes since the early 18th century. In 1883, a German named Jacob Schultheiss began renting the site to create "carousels and other amusements." His descendants managed the park until 2001. Before becoming an amusement park, the area was simply known as a small park. The park is notable for its unique setting, as it is surrounded by 19th-century residential and commercial buildings that were not specifically designed for the amusement park; rather, the park was developed around these existing structures. Gröna Lund features three main entertainment venues: Dansbanan (Lilla Scenen), Gröna Lundsteatern, and Stora Scenen. Gröna Lund offers a variety of typical amusement park attractions, including a tunnel of love, a funhouse, and eight roller coasters. It is also renowned for hosting rock and pop music concerts, with Bob Marley holding the attendance record of 32,000 in 1980. This record is unlikely to be surpassed due to new regulations limiting audience sizes. Other notable performances include American rapper Nas, who drew nearly 22,000 attendees in 2010. The park is easily accessible via tram #7, bus #67, and ferry from the city center, providing visitors with stunning views of Stockholm from its taller rides. Since 2006, Gröna Lund has been owned by Parks & Resorts Scandinavia AB, a company entirely owned by the Tidstrand family, which also operates Kolmården Zoo and Skara Sommarland. In recent events, on June 25, 2023, a tragic incident occurred when the Jetline roller coaster partially derailed, resulting in one fatality and nine injuries. Following this, the park temporarily closed. It reopened as a walking park on July 3, 2023, with most rides, except for Jetline, reopening on July 5, 2023. The Jetline will remain closed until the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority completes its investigation, expected to take 10 to 12 months, and on June 14, 2024, it was announced that Jetline would be permanently closed."
"Historical amusement park (founded in 1883) in the center of Stockholm, inspired by the famous Tivoli park in Copenhagen. Beyond the traditional attractions, Grönan offers concerts in the Summer with popular singers and various activities connected to the period of the year. Very popular is the Halloween opening."
