"Chinese influence came to Peru from the Asian province of Capon in 1849, to replace the slave labor in the sugar and cotton plantations of Peruvian coasts. Slowly, the Chinese approached the Peruvian capital, and by 1854 they occupied the first blocks of Capón Street, where Chinatown is currently located. In order to remember their traditions and cuisine, the first Chinese restaurant began operations with the traditional cuisine of Capón, Pekin, and Sichuan provinces.
As the years went by the Chinese cuisine melted with the Peruvian cuisine, resulting in an amazing cuisine, the Chifa. Today, you can visit it and taste the Chifa cuisine with dishes that combined the best of both worlds, Peruvian and Chinese gastronomy. "
