Best International Cities for Street Photography

Every detail about how I pulled off a trip around the Western United States and saw some of the country's most incredible natural wonders for less than $1,300 total. 🤯 Of course, this is the exact route that we used, but there are plenty of other options to choose from. Keep in mind, this is definitely not the itinerary to follow if you are looking to spend a significant amount of time in one specific area. We intentionally planned to see some major highlights along the trip and knew going into it that we would miss a lot of what these parks have to offer.

Los Angeles Travel Guide

Venice Beach

When you think of California, you might think of rollerbladers, skateboarders, beaches and the sun. I think it's realistic to say that you're probably thinking of Venice Beach. In the summertime, this area is teeming with tourists and locals. To make the most of it, consider joining a drum circle, taking a surf lesson, or renting a scooter to zoom up and down the boardwalk.

Be aware though, there are a lot of homeless people in Venice, especially near the beach. Can you blame them? Free beachfront property and nice tourists. :) 

Jump off the hop on hop off bus at Venice Beach and check out the shops and markets. This is a great place to people watch - there are so many people out and about enjoying the beach vibe. Stroll along the beach north up to Santa Monica.  Have a swim somewhere along the journey.

Even in May, this area was packed with tourists, so finding a place to park was not easy! We had a great lunch right on the beach. Explore the neighborhood surrounding the area as well! 

Venice Beach is a vibrant coastal neighborhood in LA, famous for its lively boardwalk, street performers, and bohemian atmosphere.
