"Paris's oldest restaurant has been founded in 1686 by an Italian, Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli. It is the first place that served coffee ☕
Located next to the French Comedy, it quickly became a literary restaurant, frequented by all of the good society.
Intellectuals such as Voltaire and Diderot used to come here to exchange ideas, with famous foreigners of that time, including Benjamin Franklin. During the French Revolution, a lot of public gatherings happened here, which contributed to the restaurant's fame.
Later, the Romantics (Hugo, Musset, George Sand) were also habitués.
Today, it has kept a traditional charm, with every table named after a famous person who has dined here"

"The oldest café in Paris opened by Francesco Procopio dei Coltelli in 1686, which became the meeting place of the Parisian elite.
Voltaire, Rousseau, Montesquieu and Diderot were the most frequent customers, it is even said that some pages of the famous "Encyclopedia" were written at these tables."

"Delicious and authentic restaurant - it is said that upon one of his visits, Napoleon couldn’t pay the bill so left his hat as payment and they now have it on display… needless to say he has paid off his debt! "
