What people say

"Original and infamous “Red Light District”! Not my vibe, but definitely something that needs to be at least seen if you’re in the city! Walk down the packed street on a Saturday night to see it at its busiest. There aren’t as many red windows as you would think! But yes, there are women in the red windows who legally conduct s*x work. There are also many bars and regular buildings - when you walk further down the street it becomes a quiet residential neighborhood which is a surprising juxtaposition. Rules: be respectful, no video taping or photos of the women in the red windows"
"The red light district is located in the center of Amsterdam. You can recognize it thanks to the large amount of neon and red lights that adorn its shop windows. It is the most frequented neighborhood by tourists, who reach it attracted by the charm of the forbidden. Being one of the most tourist areas of the city and with important attractions,a visit to the most transgressive neighborhood of Amsterdam is inevitable! 👣How to get there: reachable on foot from Oude Kerk (150m, 2min). Metro stop: Central Station, lines 51,52,53 and 54."
"The Red Light District surprised us all because, despite its fame, we had not really imagined it to be so explicit. The local authorities organise lanes where you can only drive in one direction, as the area is full of tourists and they have to control the traffic."
