What people say

"Like Milford Sound this is actually a fiord and not a sound and also consists of the two layers of water. Fresh water on the top and salt water below. The Doubtful Sound is very quiet and a lot less touristy than the famous Milford Sound. So if you're looking for an experience away from the crowds this could be the better option for you. Tours start from Manapouri from where they take you over the water and then pick you up with a bus to drive the scenic Wilmot Pass before dropping you off to embark on your journey through Doubtful sound. You can go on cruises here, even overnight ones that include kayak tours and for sure will be an incredibly amazing experience."
"One of the most remote parts of the country, Doubtful Sound is the deepest and second longest of New Zealand's fiords. Take a cruise or sea kayak through these beautifully calm waters. "
