Originally from LA, I've solo traveled to 50 countries at 26 years old! Most of my travels have revolved around South East Asia, Central America, Europe, and Australia. I specialize in budget backpacking and slow travel. I've lived in 6 different countries and have spent at least one month in the rest. I focus on adventure activities, cultural experiences, local food, and of course...the best parties. I've had tons of crazy experiences along my journey that has shaped me into the confident backpacker I am today. I want every person (but women especially!) to feel the joy and freedom that comes from solo traveling. I'll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've made tons of mistakes traveling; I've lost my debit card, had medical emergencies, stolen iPhones, and the occasional mental breakdown...or two. Traveling is not always picture perfect so I want to show you all the nitty gritty details to make sure you are THE most prepared for your backpacking adventure.

Hola! I'm Julia, a 23-year-old born in the small town of Woerden, The Netherlands. In 2017, I had the opportunity to take my first trip outside of Europe to Ghana. This journey opened my eyes and showed me that the world has so much more to offer beyond my familiar and trusted surroundings. After hard work and saving money, I was able to take the step and travel solo, starting with a trip to Central and South America. While I sometimes visite popular tourist attractions, I'm primarily in search of unique, hidden, and meaningful experiences. Nothing makes me happier than enjoying a fantastic meal in a place with a story, talking to a local. The goal of my travels has always been more than just a simple vacation. Traveling means meeting new people, discovering a new part of yourself, learning about different cultures (especially their music, dance, and food), sharing opinions and experiences, and broadening my perspective. Planning and creating a trip is incredibly exciting, but I understand it can be challenging and overwhelming when you don't know the area! Although I'm not an expert and there are certainly many more impressive and beautiful places to discover than those I've seen, I want to share my experiences this way. I'll provide insights into both the most wonderful experiences and my honest opinions, along with the practical challenges I've faced. Getting to know different cultures, meeting new people and discovering beautiful places has become more than a hobby. For the past 2.5 years, I've lived outside of the Netherlands, spending time in Barcelona, Mexico, and Chile. I hope to excite and inspire you as you plan your dream trip. 💛
