Day 1 landing in Sicily:

To get to Taormina you would need to catch a flight to Catania Fontanarossa “Vincenzo Bellini” International airport. It is about a 1 hour drive to Taormina, so if possible it would be best to catch a flight early in the morning.

You can check any available flights here:

Once you arrive in Taormina you can checkin to this lovely B&B where we stayed at:

Venere B&B Castelmola
@jasminefauselattard
This was a very great stay. It is located up on a hill near Castelmola centre. It has such a beautiful view of the landscape and sea. The sun also rises directly in front of you from the view you see. The owners are also very welcoming and their breakfast and dinner was very delicious. They even make their own wine!

Day 2 in Taormina:

We started the day by walking around the beautiful Castelmola centre. This is a small village above the town of Taormina, it is filled with many antique shops and old path ways. You can also see the view of Mount Etna!

Day 3 Mount Etna:

After checking out we were off to the famous Mount Etna!

To go to Mount Etna from Taormina you can take a train to Catania, then transfer to the AST bus to Rifugio Sapienza.

However, we booked a personal driver that would take us to Mount Etna and drive us back to the airport later on the day (so he would be with us all day).

He is a great friend of ours and a trusted driver for whenever we go to Sicily. If you would like further information about our driver feel free to reach out to me for his contact details!
