Getting Into & Around DC

There are 3 airports in the DMV area:

1. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) - 3.7 miles from the White House - Hub for American Airlines - Does not have immigration and customs facilities (ie. primarily domestic flights)

2. Dulles International Airport (IAD) - 28.7 miles from the White House - Hub for United Airlines

3. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) - 31.6 miles from the White House - Hub for Southwest Airlines

Once you‘ve landed, it's really easy to get around the city. In addition to Lyft and Uber (ride-sharing apps, very reliable), you can also take "Metro", DC's public transportation system. You'll need a fare card (physical or via the app) and $5-15+ per day, but Metro can take you just about anywhere you want to go. Check out the link below for more info on how to navigate DC with Metro.
