How to come to Amsterdam?

Train, bus, car, plane! Amsterdam is a quite easy place to get to, wherever you are from, with lots of

How to move around in Amsterdam?

I recommend walking and cycling! You can get pretty much anywhere just walking actually.

Top 10 Activities

1 - The Rijksmuseum

Looking for a big museum hidding a cute library? Yup, it's that one ! My ultimate goal was to find the famous library one can see everywhere on instagram, and it was quite a pickle to find it! I actually had to ask to a museum guide because it was so big and I got lost

The library is well hidden, and actually quite small compared to what I was expecting, also it's part of the student library (they have a special access for studying) and you have to be quiet when you enter the area above their spot. Anyway I still got the famous picture haha

2 - Anne Frank's hause

Do you know Anne Frank? She was a jewish young girl, hosted and hidden by some people during the war. She wrote a famous journal about her days locked up under the roof, and it's a must to go on a tour when you visit the city. But CAREFUL! You should always book your visit at least 2 months in advance, or it's gonna be full. I was too late and could only take a picture from the outside unfortunately. But it's a good reason to go back right ;)

7 - Canal cruise

How can you come to Amsterdam and NOT book a cruise tour? Yes, it may be rainy. But also yes, they have covered boats ! Just joking, I would have loved to do it, but since it was rainy the whole time I was there I didn't get the chance. Another good reason to go back for a fun time on water!

9 - Cycling trip

Same as the boat tour: riding a bike in the city is a must to live the Amsterdam experience ! You'll see more bikes than cars in this city, and you should always be careful when crossing a road and so on, because they really love having priority ! It's not to be taken lightly the art of riding a bike in Amsterdamn, trust me !

10 - Red light district

Last but not least, you may have heard about the Red light district. Totally different ambiance by night, this is where you can see prostitutes through the windows on both sides of the canal. It's a very strange area from my perspective, and choose wisely the person you want to go for a visit in this area
