Top authentic local food in Hanoi you wish you knew - Vietnam 🇻🇳
Carrine Eng
Vietnamese food is definitely a big part of the culture. From coffee to salad to noodles, I am sure you will enjoy the fresh and simple food as much as I do. For example, food in the North, Hanoi is comparably lighter and less intense than the food in the South. If you are a food purist or big on tasting all the ingredients in its authentic flavor, you must not miss Hanoi's good local street food. *Guide will be updated whenever I have new recommendations!

Avid solo female traveler. Friend-group designated travel planner. Solo travel has changed my life and I’d like to inspire you to take the first step to do it too! I’ve always been the planner in my friend's group, and since I’ve started solo travel, I realized I can combine my planning skills + authentic solo experience and share it with you here. I love local cultures and unique experiences so I pride myself on avoiding tourist traps (or at least being aware of them), and will advise you against shady practices that offer touristy experiences that harm the locals or the environment. E.g. any elephant sanctuaries, diving in Oslob. Please for the love of god, don’t support them. I promise there are so many more authentic and beautiful local experiences that are worth your time. As a Malaysian living in Singapore, I definitely have a huge passion for spicy food. If you’ve any questions, drop me a message on telegram @carrineeng. Please introduce yourself!
