The Whale distinguishes itself in the Asheville beer scene by stocking beers from outside the Asheville beer scene. I know, I know, you came to drink local, but their tap list features some of the best breweries in the country. Like Jester King.
Ask to see their beer binder, a cellar list that brings me to tears.

Early riser? Surprise your friends with treats from this drive through only bakery, where they limit each customer to 6 cinnamon rolls.

This drive through only gem is worth the 12 min drive west of the city. Hit this on your way to a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway! Just be warned, they’re closed on Sundays.
