Tasting Italy: Rome 🇮🇹🍝🍕
There are never enough trips to Rome for the resturants alone. These are some of my favorites we've found over the years!

This list has just a taste of all the great meals you can find in Rome! I also offer a larger list with more categories, more neighborhoods, and explanations of typical dishes to try! My Rome foodie list has 60+ options including restaurants, panini & cheap eats, cafes & brunch, bars & speakeasies, and gelato. It means there’s always something delicious in easy reach wherever you are. Grab it here:

Restaurants

Trattoria Der Pallaro
@teaspoonofnose
Quirky and casual restaurant not far from the Pantheon. The 3 course preset menu is whatever mamma makes that night, and it's 30€ per pseron, plus wine. Make a reservation or show up early, because they fill up fast! They do take online reservations though, use the link below!

QUADRO' - Pizzetterie Romane
@teaspoonofnose
Solid coffee bar and cheap pizza spot near the touristy area

Tonnarello

Great carbonara, the meatballs are also amazing! Sister restaurant to Nannarella. They don't take reservations and the line gets crazy, so I advise going right when they open for lunch or eating a weird mid-afternoon meal.

Taverna Trilussa
@teaspoonofnose
Great nicer meal! They have extensive charcuterie options (where it can get pricey). But their pasta dishes are only slightly higher than other spots. Their signature pasta, a cheesy dish with a secret recipe, is one of the best I’ve ever tasted!

The OG speakeasy in Rome. There’s a passcode that changes every few days, which you get by joining their email list. For Thursday through Saturday, definitely make a reservation! They fill up. But it's easy on their website.

Amateur Italian, travel advisor, and adventurous eater! I’m a travel creative living in small town northern Italy, and I've been planning travel for over 15 years. I've lived on three continents and visited over 40 countries, so I'm passionate about helping travelers experience the best of a location, no matter where! I love both/and travel: I want to see the big sights AND the local hangouts, the big cities AND the small towns. I’d love to help you do it too! If you’re going to Rome for the first time, you don’t need me to tell you to see the Colosseum. But you might want me to tell you if it’s better as a guided tour or on your own, what add-on’s are worth the money, and what are the extra secret things your ticket can get you! My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny. I'd love to work with you to create the trip of your dreams!
