The Top of the Standard
Formerly the famed Boom Boom Room, the 270-degree views spanning from the Empire State Building, down lower Manhattan, and across the river into New Jersey are draw enough. Pair that with the chic-yet-cozy ambience replete with designer fireplace, an elevated cocktail menu, and a clientele mixed between it-girl 20-somethings, investment bankers in ties lingering at the bar, the occasional gaggle of dressed-up suburban mid-30s out for a thrilling night on the town, and you’ve nailed the experience. After all, a cocktail menu with these prices doesn’t beckon your fellow IKEA-shopping Gen Z and young Millennials — for a fun, laid back (and NYC-affordable) vibe, head downstairs to the Standard Beer Garden.
The service is, of course, exceptional. The bathrooms are surprisingly worth writing home about if only for their floor-to-ceiling windows. And, despite (or perhaps because) it’s always so packed, it’s easy to feel like you’re having your own intimate experience among the glow.
Call ahead to book a sunset table and thank me later 😉.
