$$$ If you’ve never tried rabbit before, here’s your chance to get adventurous! The patio is cozy and nestled along the cobblestone streets of Petit Champlain, which makes it the perfect date spot. My faves: 🍽Rabbit poutine (try both sauces) 🍽Quebec discoveries tasting platter (rabbit, duck, cheese, pickles vegetables)

$$ Head outside of the old city and go to the neighborhood of Saint-Saveur. I have yet to visit this one but I’ve heard good things! It’s a sustainable + zero waste restaurant that serves only local fare. Try their 5 course tasting menu, where everything is homemade using only local ingredients from their 70+ artisanal suppliers.

$ This ones a bit off the beaten path where students, local artists, and writers frequent. Cantook café is everyone's favourite coffee shop in Saint-Jean-Baptiste. It’s also my favorite place to grab a coffee in Quebec City!

$ A true local gem. These guys have been making homemade bagels since 1987 and they’re really good at it. Arguably the best bagels I’ve had in Quebec City. You’ll love ❤️: 🥯Smoked salmon sandwich 🥯La Sauvagine (veg option) Tip: go before 9 am to avoid any lines if you’re going on the weekend.

L’Ile D’Orleans

$ L’île d’Orléans is known as Quebec’s farmers market on an island. It’s only a 20 minute drive from Quebec City, but you can easily spend an entire day here. It’s very big! Take a long drive around the island, stopping at the farms and vendors to grab picnic supplies. There’s many spots along the road with a grassy hill and beautiful view of the river. Local faves ❤️ 1) La Boulange (best croissants) 2) La Chocolaterie 3) Fromagerie 🧀 Ferme Audet (goat cheese) 4) Ferme Jean-Pierre Plante (pick your own strawberries)

$$ A trip to Île d’Orléans is not complete unless you’ve been to Cassis Mona et Filles ❤️ Cassis is black currant. And trust me, it’s makes a good wine and liquor. I recommend to begin with a tasting tour (no pre-booking required, they run on regular set intervals). If you’re hungry, grab lunch on their restaurant patio - La Monnaguette - which offers spectacular views of the river and bridge. My favorite is the “crème de cassis” ice cream. You must try!
