SluttyVegan ATL
@wanderingduo
Bringing vegan options and food awareness to Atlanta’s West End has always been a life dream of Pinky Cole, CEO and Founder of The Slutty Vegan. Cole started making moves from her two-bedroom apartment in July of 2018, selling Slutty Vegan’s signature burgers fresh to order via Instagram! In a few weeks’ time, she was filling orders around the city of Atlanta and serving burgers from a mobile food truck. By October 2018, the first Slutty Vegan restaurant location opened. Three months later, a crowd of 1,200 gathered outside the restaurant in 45-degree weather for the grand opening.

Local Green Atlanta
@wanderingduo
A legend in the Atlanta music scene, Zachary “Big Zak” Wallace has penned chart-topping hits for some of the industry’s biggest names. Born in Southwest Atlanta, Wallace grew up in a food desert, where he experienced an environment plagued with empty calories, high fats and sky-high sodium levels. Wallace saw first-hand the effects of food insecurity and how poor eating habits frustrated the health and wellbeing of his community. In 2017, he sought out to make a difference. Starting with a Local Green Atlanta food truck, Wallace wanted to spread an awareness for tasty, fulfilling plant-based cuisine in these Atlanta communities. Now, his Vine City restaurant, Local Green Atlanta, continues to spread that message, serving not just health—but hope.

Tom, Dick & Hank
@wanderingduo
Relive the nostalgia of a backyard BBQ. Owner Hank Johnson knows no strangers. He started his career working as the road manager for popular Atlanta artists, which created the foundation for his deep Atlanta roots. During the touring years, he became known as 'Happy Hour Hank.' Never about bells and whistles, his desire for well-seasoned food inspired his unique culinary journey. While promoting Atlanta night clubs, Hank was exposed to short-order cooking. His passion for entertaining and promoting good times collided with his flavorful style of cooking and led him to open what began as a food stand in the heart of Atlanta's midtown. That stand grew into the restaurants that we now know as Tom, Dick & Hank. Pulling from his music life, Goodie Mob's "Cell Therapy” inspired the name. For Hank, it is all about good food, good drinks, and good people.

Named for the stately Oak that stands statuesque in the restaurant's front lawn, the Big Oak, strives to embody the same essence of strength, resilience, and sustainability. These qualities came into play more than ten years ago when a kitchen fire nearly devastated the entire structure. Despite this significant setback, they were able to rebuild and preserve. The original fireplace and wood floors were able to be salvaged and serve as a reminder of their journey. Co-owner, Nate Armstrong, has extensive background in culinary arts and restaurant management that has served him in creating a menu that is sure to challenge even the most discriminating of pallets. He has made it a priority to source locally and regionally from sustainable farmers and distributors to support local community engagement.
