London πŸ’‚πŸΌβœ¨
London is one of my personal favourite cities in the world. I might be biased because I lived there for 2 years but I honestly think everyone needs to experience it at least once (if not more!). Here I have put together for you all of my London guides from my favourite foodie finds to some of my favourite activities around the city! Also, at the end of the guide, you can find some helpful logistical information about London to make your visit even smoother!

Itinerary:Β

London is one of the most beautiful cities to walk around and explore. And funnily enough, a lot of the TOP attractions in London are relatively close to each other - you just need to really plan your itinerary! And that is what I've done for you! I have personally done this walking tour over 6 times in 2 years. Whenever I had visitors, I found this was the perfect walking route to get people introduced to the city. This walking tour will take you along the Thames River and into the city. You will come across: πŸŒ‰ 5 important bridges πŸ‘‘ 5 historic landmarks β›ͺ️ 3 well-known churches 🌳 3 parks and squares πŸ›οΈ 2 shopping areas 🀀 2 markets 🎨 1 museum + some food and restaurant recommendations! And what's great is that it's customizable to your interest - you can stop at anything that particularly interests you! It is also very easy to break this itinerary into smaller chunks if you feel like you want to spend a bit more time in a certain area or if you are a bit limited in time! It is completely up to you! Fun Fact: this walking tour was how I spent my first day EVER in London and my flatmate and I re-did the tour right before we left to move back home! It's safe to say that is a personal favourite of mine! Ready to explore London with me? ✨

Need some more information for your trip to London?Β

Major Airports:Β

-London Heathrow Airport (international)Β

-London Gatwick AirportΒ

-There are a few other airports in the city worth mentioning such as London Luton Airport, London City Airport, London Stanstead Airport, and London Southend Airport.Β

How to get around the city:Β

-One of my favourite things about London is how well-connected it is! You can everywhere and anywhere in the city just by using public transportation alone. You can use the Tube, buses, trains or trams and there are countless lines.Β

-I'd recommend using the app called Citymapper because it will provide you with the best route to your destination, tell you how much it costs and the detailed timings.Β

-London is organized by zone in terms of its public transportation so if you're travelling to a farther zone you will be charged more. Most tourist locations are located in the first 2 zones however do keep that in mind when travelling around the city!Β

-Bus is also the cheapest public transit option because it is a flat fare and doesn't depend on the zone!Β

How to get to/from the airport:Β

-London Heathrow Airport: there is a tube station directly at the airport. All you have to do is follow the signs and ride the tube into the city and transfer from there to your accommodations. This is the easiest and cheapest way and you just need to use an oyster card (which can be bought and added money to it at the station) or contactless payment. But there are also Night busses (N9), coach buses and a Heathrow express train.Β

-London Gatwick Airport: there are several trains that run from Gatwick airport into the city and the station is directly in the airport at the South Terminal. The train you take depends on where you need to go, so I'd consult a travel app like Citymapper to let you know which specific train you'd need. Oyster cards and contactless payments are both accepted!Β

Getting to other cities in the UK:Β

-Trains! Trains are SUPER easy in the UK! Whether you are going for a day trip or a longer holiday, taking a train across the UK is a great bet.Β

-There are multiple train stations in London to get you to where you need to be and tickets can be bought in person or in advance using services like Omio or Trainline!Β

-You can also take long-haul buses or flights do different areas in the UK as well!Β
