What people say

"Plaka Beach has transformed from a nudist haven to one of the most popular beaches on Naxos, while still retaining some of its original character. Known for its long, wide expanse of white sand and turquoise waters, Plaka attracts a diverse crowd, including families and couples, especially during high season. Nudists tend to congregate at the southern end of the beach to maintain their privacy. Accessed via a well-maintained coastal dirt road from Agia Anna, Plaka Beach offers various accommodations, including family-owned hotels, studios, and apartments. The area features numerous tavernas with stunning views and excellent local cuisine, as well as beach-front cafes and bars that serve refreshments directly on the sand. Stretching approximately 4 kilometers, the beach is partly organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, making it a great spot for relaxation. Though it can be busy during peak season, it remains quieter than nearby beaches like Agios Prokopios. Plaka's expansive shoreline is ideal for beach walks, and visitors often stroll along the sand, exploring the beach's offerings and enjoying the sun and sea throughout the day."
"Located on the west coast of Naxos, just south of Agios Prokopios is Plaka Beach. This long golden beach is graced with soft sandy dunes and crystal clear waters that are sure to delight. At over 4 kilometers in length, you can be sure to find a secluded spot if you prefer peace and solitude or you can check out the beach’s more organized sections for shady loungers and sunbeds. Plaka is a great choice for those who like their beaches more on the natural and undeveloped side. It is rarely bustling with people and you won’t find a ton of beach bars and hotels close by. Towards the northern end of the beach, you can find more amenities, including drinks and snacks and lounger rental for those who prefer. It is, however, a great place to spend a quiet afternoon swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling. Plaka is an ideal family beach and is just next door to Maragas Beach which is much more lively so you can enjoy the best of both worlds if you choose. If you’re not staying in the area you can reach Plaka by car in about 20 minutes from Naxos town or hop on board the local bus which runs hourly and takes around 30 minutes."
"Plaka Beach is another great beach to visit. It is not crowded and you can order drinks for a cheap price. It is not touristy which is why it is such a gem! "
