Planning travel as a celiac is not easy. You have to dig through heaps of blog posts to find gluten-free restaurants in each city, figure out how to ask your questions in a different language, call and interrogate restaurants who probably don’t understand you, find accommodations near a grocery store…the list is never ending.

As a native English speaker who speaks fluent Italian and has all the local, insider secrets on traveling gluten-free in Italy, I want to help you plan a super fun and totally safe gluten-free Italian adventure!

We may chat about things like…

What are the best celiac-safe restaurants in Italy? 🍝

How do you tell if packaged foods are gluten-free or not? 🍕

How do you navigate the celiac scene without speaking Italian?? 🇮🇹

During your 30 or 60 minute travel consultation, I will be available to answer all your questions about traveling safely as a celiac in Italy. This is a completely personalized experience…feel free to ask me anything and everything!

Got non-celiac-related questions? I'm happy to help with those too! I can walk you through train travel, how to exchange currencies, what scams to know and avoid on the streets...anything!

Why book with me?

1️⃣ I LIVE in Italy! I can give you super tailored advice from my years of first-hand experience. I know the Italian celiac scene like the back of my hand🇮🇹

2️⃣ I'm a native English speaker who speaks fluent Italian. There's no language barrier on our end and I can seamlessly communicate with restaurants on your behalf. Feeling unsure about cross-contact procedures? I'll send an email in Italian asking for you🤗

3️⃣ I have personal relationships with the chefs of many gluten-free restaurants around the country. I can get you reservations just by sending a text📲

4️⃣ My degree is in medical anthropology and I wrote my thesis about the impact of culture on the quality of life for celiacs. Not only have I been living with celiac disease for many years, but I've also studied the social aspect of our condition inside and out🤓

5️⃣ On top of celiac disease I have a wheat allergy and a plethora of other conditions. Helping you navigate multiple intolerances is not a problem!💕

Here's how it works

‌1). Choose between a 30 minute or 60 minute consultation ☎️

⭐️30 minute consultations are good for general questions, a few restaurant recommendations, and my tips all celiacs should know before heading to Italy. This is the best option if you're taking a shorter trip to Italy and/or the bulk of your trip planning is done.

⭐️60 minute consultations are great to dig deeper. You get all of the above support plus I can help you navigate food labeling and grocery stores in Italy, connect you with some fun celiac-safe experiences in Italy, and act as a language liaison to help you make reservations and any other assistance you may need in Italian. This is the best option if you want in-depth support during the travel planning process.

2). Purchase the service 💰

You will be prompted to purchase the service when you choose either a 30 or 60 minute consultation below. These sessions can be re-booked if you didn't get all your questions answered initially. You save 25$ by booking a full hour.

3). Book a time 🗓

Once you purchase the service I will be notified and will reach out to you via email within 48 hours with my availability. Then we can find a time that works for both of us and get to planning!

What clients have to say💕

"Catalin was so helpful in planning my safe celiac experiences in Italy. She was open to any questions we had, even if they had nothing to do with celiac eating. She followed our conversation with a thorough email that outlined everything we talked about. She even included links to all her recommendations. DEFINITELY take advantage of Catalin's knowledge and experience."

-Allison

"Catalin- we just got back from Italy and had the most fantastic trip!! I ate safely all over and particularly loved the GF options and food in Florence - I can see why you decided to settle there. We truly loved all of the meals we had and I could not thank you enough for your help with reservations and recommendations! Again - thanks so much for your help, guidance, and reassurance."

-Rachel

"It was so great speaking with you today. I have been so anxious about eating while I travel and not only did you provide me with so many great tips, you suggested must see places and definitely eased my stress. Thank you for providing such a great service to help fellow celiacs enjoy their stay in Italy!"
