🚨🚨Important celiac note: The coffee shops on this list are just for coffee, drinks, and a place to work. They are not celiac-safe establishments and I do not eat at any of them. Always ask about a product being celiac-safe if you do choose to eat something at one of these locations.

Orsonero Coffee

Via Bonvesin de la Riva, 3

Via Giuseppe Broggi, 15

Orsonero Coffee
@celiacinitaly
The vibes at Orsonero coffee are absolutely emaculate...whether you're hoping to work, study, read a book, or just enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend. I loveeee the minimalist design of the whole interior. It's a pretty small shop so seating can be limited, best to plan for an earlier morning outing with this one.

Orsonero Coffee
@celiacinitaly
This Orsonero location is absolutely worth a visit, even if you've already been to the other one on via Bonvesin. This one feels a little more welcoming to sit and stay a while whereas the other location, with it's limited seating, is more drink and go. I have found that Orsonero really attracts the young, international community of Milan, so it's a great place to make friends too!

Cafezal Specialty Coffee

Viale Premuda, 14

Via Solferino, 27

Cafezal Torrefazione Specialty Coffee
@celiacinitaly
Cafezal was recognized in 2019 as one of the top 3 best coffee shops in the EU! And both of their locations live up to that reputation. The stunningly sleek interior makes Cafezal feel more like a professional coworking space than a cozy, read-your-book-by-the-fireplace coffee shop. So, depending on what vibe you're after, choose accordingly. Honestly, my favorite part of this coffee shop was the glass wall that allows you to look into the whole coffee bean grinding/production process. So cool!

Loste Café

Via Francesco Guicciardini,3

Loste Café
@celiacinitaly
Loste Cafè is a beautiful blend of old and new in that they serve very traditional Italian breakfast and lunch items while embracing the modern coffee shop needs of the iternational community in Milan. They just opened in 2021 so they are the new kid on the Milan specialty coffee block! Add this one to your must-visit list! They have an impressive pastry menu but of course, if you're a celiac, you want to stear clear of the pastries...they are NOT gluten-free!

NOWHERE- Coffee & Community

Via Caminadella, 15

NOWHERE - Coffee & Community
@celiacinitaly
A lovely place to stop for a cappuccino and power through some work. And I must say, the pink interior is adorable! If you're already bored of cappuccinos, this is a good place to grab a kombucha (a rare treat in Italy). CELIAC NOTE: They have some GF options listed on their menu but they do state that their kitchen is not free of cross-contact. So these items are not celiac-safe.

Gogol & Company

Via Savona, 101

Gogol & Company
@celiacinitaly
Hope you're sitting down for this one because it's good... Gogol & Company is a coffee shop meets book store meets event space. Yes, it’s as cool as it sounds. They have some super cozy armchairs to snuggle in with your favorite book and a cup of coffee. And they have a dedicated coworking space for those looking to be extra productive. They are constantly hosting different literary and music events and even offer different courses in writing and publishing. Oh, and did I mention they are an art gallery/exhibition space? Gogol & Company does it all.

O|NEST

Via Gerolamo Turroni, 2

O|NEST
@celiacinitaly
Onest is focused on prioritizing sustainability within the specialty coffee space. They try to use only small, local producers and avoid food waste as much as possible. That's a business model I can get behind! The space is beautiful and the coffee is delicious, what more could you ask for?
